This is Miss Lexi! I love her. When I first met her, she was itty bitty. Now she is a big one year old! She has the cutest mom {and dad:} ever too! I was glad I got to do their session before making the big move up to Highland!

I love this family! I first met Heidi when she called me to do her daughters newborn pictures over a year ago. Heidi is such a babe, don’t ya think! That little girl has everyone in her family wrapped tightly around her finger:) As it should be!

I love this shot! I had told mom and dad to give each other a kiss.

I guess the boys thought I was talking to them too!

These kids are CRAZY! In a good way of course:) My crazy energy just intensified theirs! We definitely had A LOT of fun during the session. Holly makes really cute crocheted beanies, headbands, blankets, etc. I am sure you have heard of her company: Treasured by Holly. I love her stuff!

I was beyond excited when Michelle asked if I would come photograph the birth of her 6th baby. Yes, I said 6th! These guys are amazing. Somehow, they have this whole parenting thing figured out! They are so patient and chill. I am so not either of those things! OK, I guess I am patient at times, and chill at times, but when it comes to dealing with my own kids, I am so not! Thank you Michelle and Cameron for letting me be part of such an important event!

So despite what we thought would happen, Miss Jada was taking her time and Michelle wasn’t dilating very fast. So Cam decides to go run some errands. As he is walking out, I ask him if he knew that it is customary to get a gift for your wife when she is delivering your baby. I never got gifts, but I figured I would try to get Michelle hooked up with one:) So Cameron laughs at my ridiculous idea says they had never done that before, so why start now. So guess who comes walking in an hour later with a neatly wrapped gift! Oh Ya! Michelle has a charm bracelet that she collects charms for. So Mr. Hubbie of the year went to Christiansen’s and hooked her up! Notice the charm that has JADE on it! Get it? JADA! What a smart guy!

Then, the next day, Jada got to meet the rest of the family!

Tis the season for Extended Family pictures! I am pretty sure that my next four sessions that will be blogged are all extended families! I have to say, I love doing extended family sessions. I know a lot of photogs won’t do them. I am not sure why, but I can tell you why I love them. They are a lot less stressful than single family sessions. When I say stressful, I am talking clients stressing, not me:) I only stress when its my own family. Then I am the psycho mom screaming at her kids! Anyways, I think the extended family photo sessions are less stressful because everyone is just happy to have all of the big family together to even get a picture, that they don’t sweat the small stuff. They are just thrilled that they will finally have a large family picture with all of the children, the spouses and the grandchildren together. Another reason I love doing the extended families is because I think it is really neat to be able to look through my lens and see how this family started with two people, and grew into many more. I don’t know why, but I think its really cool, so I can only imagine how the “grandmas and/or grandpas” feel. Ok, enough of this sappy crap!! lol!

This is the Heath family! So at the last minute, one of the sons couldn’t get out of work! We were already there and decided to go ahead with the shoot. I felt so bad for Karen! She had this shoot planned months in advance. But what can ya do. I then got this great idea to photoshop him in. I told his mom that it would not be perfect. I would need a picture of him emailed to me so that I could MAYBE take his head and add it to the family picture. So we did a couple pictures knowing that we would swap him in. The big family picture below is with the swapped in son. Can you tell? Maybe you can tell if you know the guy personally. I have never met him, so he may be taller, shorter, a bigger head, a smaller head, I don’t know. But for everyone else, can you tell? Don’t stare at it too hard, cuz then you will be able to tell! lol! I was surprised that I was able to get the coloring and lighting on his face to look as good as it did.

Its already 1 am. I really wanted to show the steps I took in setting this shot up at the photoshoot so that I could easily add the missing son afterwards in photoshop, but I am a sleepy girl. I will at least throw on the picture they emailed me to use for his head.

I also had a chance to take Dave and Melanie’s family pictures right before the rest of the family got there. I love their little kiddos. I can’t believe it has been almost a year since I took little Blakes newborn pics.

Mother Nature was not on our side the day of this session. I drove out to Hurricane to meet them at their house and then go to a couple nearby locations. When we walk outside, its totally raining! Camera’s and lens’s don’t like rain. Lori’s thick curly hair doesn’t like rain. Nobody likes rain and wind and cold when they are mixed together. We decided to drive back to St. George because it wasn’t raining there…yet. It was so windy and towards the end of the session, it started to drizzle. Considering the not so great weather, I think the pictures turned out great! If you need some cute picture frames as last minute gifts for Christmas, Lori is your gal!!!

I am not what you would call “A dog lover”. More of a “kinda liker”.

This family is the best! They live in my neighborhood. They are always having a good time as I am sure you can tell from the pictures! I remember when they were a family of “young” children! How time flies, they are now all grown up {physically, not mentally, lol!} Thanks you guys!

In order to get my clients their pictures in a {somewhat} timely manner, somethings gotta give. In the last week, it has been my blog! So to all of my clients who have their cd already and are wondering why the heck I didn’t post your session, its not cuz I don’t like you. I love you. I loved taking your pictures. I WILL be posting all of my sessions….eventually. Hope everyone is having a great December. Oh!!! Guess what! I got my Christmas present early this year. I GOT A NEW CAMERA!!! I have been dying for one. Since I have been doing photography, I have been toting around a Rebel. My rebel has been great to me. But I knew that eventually I would need to upgrade. I got a 5d, I got a 5d, I got a 5d. No, not the Mark 2. It’s the “classic” 5d, but I really don’t need the video and for $1,500 less, I am happy to take the older model! So far, so good! I am loving it! I got it the Saturday before Thanksgiving. Since then I have shot 15 sessions. So I am sure that helps you understand my lack of blogging! Believe it or not, I am not too behind…yet:) If your wondering, I haven’t posted any sessions yet since getting my new camera. Honestly, I am not sure that anyone will be able to tell the difference, but I definitely can, and that’s all that matters:)
